Kevin Rudd opens Health Information Pharmacy Morningside
On Saturday 16th June Kevin Rudd officially opened the new Health Information Pharmacy (HIP) in Morningside, Brisbane. Mr Rudd was invited to open the store as he lives locally and has been coming to the Morningside pharmacy for close to 20 years, as he mentioned in his opening speech.
At the opening HIP CEO Ken Lee and HIP Morningside managing partner Ming Lin were able to show Mr Rudd some of the unique aspects of the HIP model, including a demonstration of the HIP Chemconsult® dispensing process and how it helps the pharmacy pick up medication errors in scripts. Mr Lee and Ms Lin also talked with Kevin Rudd about the HIP group's new weight loss program Health-e Weight (he was particularly impressed that the product component is manufactured in Australia) and the 24/7 pharmacist hotline that is run by the group for customers who are members of its Platinum Care Club loyalty club.
Mr Rudd expressed his admiration and support for HIP's values (see below). He said "I commend the group for the work they are doing across Australia... I think it's a great concept". He also had some compliments to pay the team at HIP Morningside, "Always smiling, always helpful, always happy... whatever time of day or night, however complex the request, always a helpful and smiling answer."
