Ex Woolies MD and Guild President to address HIP members conference
The HIP Members Conference, to be held next week in Sydney, will be addressed by current Pharmacy Guild National President Kos Sclavos and John Brunton, former Managing Director of Woolworths in Australia.
Kos Sclavos
Kos Sclavos is the youngest ever national president of the Guild and has been a driving force behind a number of industry initiatives, including the Advanced Diploma of Community Pharmacy Management and the Quality Care Pharamcy Program.
John Brunton
John Brunton was Managing Director of Woolworths at a time when competition for the retail dollar was at its most critical in Australia's retail history. Franklins was top dog with Paul Simons at the helm, Coles was in second place with Woolworth's in third spot. Interest rates were at 18% and Home Brand ruled the Australian grocery industry.
John will be talking about how chasing the discount dollar can be fatal and what the long term issues are for the bottom line. He will describe how Woolworths returned to their core business to dominate the Australian grocery industry.
